Hello all. I wnat to get the best laptop possible for under £650 - it will be mostly used for MS office + gaming. I definately want at least 1 gig RAM, 80 gig HD and dedicated graphics - 256mb if possible. 15.4" screen will be fine. I undecided on XP or Vista, and in some ways would prefer XP, as I play some older games that might not work on Vista. I'd prefer at least the T5200/T5500/T5600 processor, or thier AMD equivalents (what are they?).

I am considering the Acer 5633Wmli 50J config - with the GEForce 7300, or a Dell Inspiron 6400, with an upgrade to the Ati X1400, but that takes me over budget. Is there anything else out there that would be better?

Toshiba are good.

But £650 for a Laptop to play games on, you may need to increase your budget a bit.

Not sure you can really get a laptop that will play games well for that price.

for gaming you need to spend more, something with a go7600 minimum.
