Is this something new or have I picked up a nastie.
When Googling for anything I now have a barcode appearing at the side of the Google address bar on the new page.
Anybody else have it or is it just me.

Just hovered the mouse above it and it says go to Google Home.
Unsightly looking object you would have thought that they would have put a little icon there if they had to put anything instead of a large barcode.

Today is the 57th anniversary of the first patent of the barcode

Oops meant to put this in Helproom so will now close it.

And thank you 961 that probably explains it.
Imagine me forgetting that.

It's interesting how many people's first thought is they've picked up a virus or malware, when there's often a very simple answer, in this case it's a new Google Doodle.

Why are people so paranoid?

For those who don't know, Google often change their logo to celebrate important, or sometimes quite trivial, events.

As 961 points out, today is the birthday of the good old barcode.

If you hover your cursor over the barcode, it will reveal the message "Invention of the Bar Code".

I installed a mimo monitor today and thought at first it had screwed up my display settings.
