Backup for downloaded Microsoft Office

Am tempted to download software from Microsoft website, but what happens if you have to reinstall software at a later date and you do not have the discs?

In addition to the above, the software can be installed onto 3 home computers. Without discs how can this be down?

If you pay for a MS Office download then you will receive a keycode for it. Keep a hard copy of it for future use.

The discs themselves aren't unique in that respect - it is the keycode that matters.

If you need to reinstall on anyone of the original 3 PC's then that won't be a problem. When you activate the product after installation, the keycode 'marries' itself to the computer, or 3 computers in this case.

A problem may arise if you try and install and activate on a 4th unique PC - at this point the activation may fail and the remaining copies may also be affected. This is the same system that Microsoft use for Windows.
