AOL Messed up my contract

Hopefully someone will be able to give me advice. I brought the aol platinum connection last year. Unfortunately it is not compatible with any of my email addresses so I phoned to find out the cost to cancel. They explained that i am only an aol anytime user and can cancel at anytime with no charges(which is not the case as they sent me a broadband modem and it definately works at the stated speeds). So upon further investigation I find that they are only charging me £15.99 per month instead of the correct amount of £29.99. I don't particularly want to pay the difference that they have missed out on and don't particularly want to stay with AOL. What is my legal position can anyone help?

many isp's mail servers do not allow to send emails from address other then their own

you can get around it, you can send email from aol's email address and stick your real email address to "Reply to" field, not convenient, but who can guarantee you do not to do this when you switch to another isp
