Anyone know where I can get PC2-6400 RAM?

I'm giving my computer a major overhaul, and settled in getting an ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Motherboard. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I could get 2GB sticks of PC2-6400 RAM, Crucial sell it only in 1GB sticks, and i've had no luck on ebay finding anything bigger.

Anyone got any suggestions?

The Aria link is two 1GB sticks.

So?

I'm only looking for 2GB sticks. I can find loads of 2GB pairs, but thats a waste in the long term since the board takes 8GB of RAM in 4 slots.

It might sound a stupid question, but why do you need 8GB of RAM?

Why indeed ?

I'm only putting 2GB in it. Or 4 if I get a really good deal on a matched 2GB pair. I just don't see the point of getting a 1GB pair when eventually i'll have to get 2GB sticks anyway when it comes to future upgrading.

In my experience, RAM drops in price after the initial launch of a particular type or capacity.

I've got 512MB of DDR PC3200 400MHz RAM currently in use (had 1GB but gave the younger offspring half), which was acquired back in February.

At that time 1GB cost between £95 to £105 (two 512MB of DDR were probably slightly more expensive), but about six weeks to two months later you could buy 512MB for £26 to £27.

Fortunately mine came in a bundle with a motherboard and AMD XP 3200+ that cost just £100, the result of the seller going through an upgrading period.

As the CPU (at least £85 on e-Bay) and the RAM alone were worth nearly double, I'm not grumbling...:-)

They may have cleared this up, or it may have been bullshirt in the first place, but when I went looking for a two gig slice I was advised that two 1 gig slices work much more efficiently.
