I haad bought some pc component from this company (Microland Technology) from their website. Below is the email that we exchange because they fail to delivered their product to me. I had also call their sales support line 4 times. The first two times, they told me that one of the item (CPU) i ordered was not in stock, but when i placed my order from their website, their websites showing that the product was in stock. If the product was not in stock why at the begining they never update their website. Secondly they had taken money out from my bank account even though they know that the item i had ordered was not in stock. I feel being cheated and i call them again. The third and the forth time they told me another story, they now saying that my ordered was completed and ready for despatch but today is already the 9 days since i had placed my order. Until now i haven't got my order yet. I understand that there are bank holidays in between but is already 9 days. Below is the email that i exchange with them. I hope Consumer Watch can help me out. I'm sure that many consumer ot there are having the same problem.

To the manager of Microtechnology, and to whom it may concern,

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with your service that you have
offered. I have purchased couple of things from your web-site (www.
microlandtechnology.com) on 7th of April 2004. I was promised that I should

receive the goods within three days. Unfortunately until today I have not
received it. I do understand that there were bank holidays in between this
period. Acorrding to the distance selling regulation on your website, your
company will send the good to its customer after 2-3 working days.

When I called your customer service(twice), I was informed that you run out
of stock on the item that I have ordered and do not know when the new stock
will be in. Before I purchased, these items were still available. I do
belief that you are not providing adequate information to your customer and
charging high rate in delivery charges. With that amount of delivery charges

I expect to have a fast delivery of my items that i had orderd. This is the
first time i'm buying from your company, I feel very disappointed with your
company's policy. Why sell something that your company is not sure wether it

is in stock or not, why promise something that your company can't fulfil. If

i know from the begining that your company don't have all the items that i
want in stock, I will buy somewhere else. Since i had bought the items from
your company (BECAUSE OF THE WRONG INFORMATIONS YOUR COMPANY ARE PROVIDING)

and your company had ALSO taken money out from my account I have to wait for

your delivery. I have waited for seven days. I feel i'm been cheated. As a
consumer, we don't about your company's supply chain or how or where you get

your goods from, all we want is how and when your can get me the items i
paid for. I do hope you could help me to trace my orders and solve this
problem as soon as possible.

Thank you

Best Regards

Jascha

if an item's out of stock - especially in vieww of the fact that Microland say that orders are "usually" despatched within 2-3 working days. From what you say it seems that you have been told the order has been despatched, so you'll probably receive the goods shortly.

I think you are slightly over-reacting. The goods were not promised in 3 days, you were told that the delivery is USUALLY 2-3 days.

' I have waited for seven days'...this is not an eon in the greater shape of things. I assume that you bought from the company as they were the cheapest and that is the reason that you ordered from them.

'i would like to ask for compensation for the delay as your company's had violated your promise stated on your web site (2-3 working days)'..there is no reason why you should be compensated for any delay. If the goods were that important you would be buying from a shop. You were buying because it was a good deal. Your item is a few days overdue...relax, you have got a good deal and there will be no traumas because of a few days delay.

"If the goods were that important you would be buying from a shop".

That's fine if you can get to a shop which sells what you're after, but what if you can't? For example, my local Dixons doesn't sell that much in the way of computer stuff and there are no actual computer shops in the town where I live. Unfortunately due to a health problem, I am unable to drive and as there is no public transport to PC World, which is on a big retail park, then I have no choice but to use mail order. Perhaps jascha79 is in a similar position.
