Hi, I've been perusing the reviews/forums for monitor advice. I'm looking for the best TFT 17" DVI monitor I can buy for under £300. This is the higher end of my budget any cheaper alternatives would be welcomed.

Thinking of IIyama 17" ProLite E431S-B TCO-99 at about £289 but its so damn ugly, and have no need for built in speakers.

Are there any other alternatives to this and where wold be the best place to buy it from?

I replaced my 17"CRT with the Benq FP767-12 a couple of months ago. Absolutely stunning and vibrant display. The 12ms response time is I believe the quickest around, a lot of TFTs are 25ms and some better ones 16! At £285, easy to assemble, looks sleek & stylish - look no further!

LG 1710B, here for £246. click here

I nearly bought one myself a while back, but spent it on clothes instead (doh !) 16ms repsonse time, Digital connector, and Lg have a good policy on returns for dead pixels. (more than four, two within 20mm of each, or one in the centre of the screen, LG will replace) And all the reviews i have read on it seem to suggest its a top monitor, suitable for gaming and watching films, as well as ya standard PC stuff.

I was telling the gentleman about the FP767-12 with the 12ms response time. You have quoted there on the standard 16ms response time model, hence the cheaper price.
I believe Savastore are currently the cheapest on the flagship screen in this series which I was describing to the enquirer.
