Advice re cheap MFD please

  Richardx 11:59 20 Sep 06

Looking for any advice on which cheap reliable MFD (needs copy/print/scanner) to purchase - say less than £100.

Must be small footprint - got to go into cramped small room (university halls).

Many thanks,

I use both Lexmark (expensive cartridges) and HP. Both very good, and serve their purpose well. Also have a cheap and cheerful Epson basic C86 (very cheap compatibles).

Would suggest a visit to PC World or Staples, so that you can obtain information, prices and sizes to suit your needs.Look for previous model clearance bargains at both places, some good saving available.

Amazon and similar online retailers regularly have clearances of printers and MFDs - at present Amazon has a Canon MF 150 at £39.90 including free delivery at:

However, print size is only 6x4.

Any Canon. The MP170 is a good budget buy, or if you could stretch to about £110, the MP500. click here They can take BCi series compatibles as well (tested in an MP500 - can't be sure about the 170), because they don't have chips. Some of the latest Canons have had chips added.
