Advice for printer - printing 1500- 2000 brochures

  ry2005 16:56 27 Jan 08

I will be setting up a business that will require me printing brochures. Just wondering if anyone could recommend a printer i can have at home that will not cost the earth.

Any advice will be greatly received.

It would pay you to get it done at the local printers or print shop if it is not going to get updated very often. If you only need it in black and white with a coloured cover then just get the cover done and you can bind it up using a plastic presentation folder.

It would be cheaper (depending on content and/or colour) to use one of the advertisers in the Exchange and Mart magazine who specialise in this type of work. Or as wiz-king as suggested, try someone local.

Failing that, you could consider a laser printer for black and white print-outs. Self-fill the toner cartridges yourself.

Use your local printer shop and save yourself some hassle. You should be in a position to haggle a bit if you intend a regular order.

Anything over 500 sheets is not economical to do on a printer that you might find in an ordinary office (or home) environment.

As others have suggested, get it done professionally.
