Specification is fully enough to play latest games.

For autocad preferred system requirements:

* Intel® Pentium® 4 or later, with 2.8 GHz or a faster processor (e.g. Intel® Pentium® M 1.8GHz for Laptop) and with at least 1MB total Cache
* 1.5 GB or more RAM
* 2 GB of free disk space not including installation
* 128 MB or more Open GL work-station class graphics card or DirectX 9 support

So it will be fully enough.

Only one thing I will recomend to you is to upgrade motherboard - because ECS motherboards are cheap range.

Antony.

How much are these types of motherboard and what type of price would I need to spend for the more expensive ones (any suggestions on what type? - I don't have a clue sorry)? can't really afford to spend any more so is it worth getting a bit less on the processor or RAM? (if so which one?)

Incidently I was looking at it on pcspecialist.co.uk anyone dealt with them before? They don't give option of any other motherboard so if I did that would need to look elsewhere

thanks

You really dont need all that ram, it wont be used, 2gb is plenty.

Only get 2 x 512 and 2x 1gb ram, winxp won't see more than this, click here and contact them, they MAY upgrade the processor for you in their tower system, they do sell the E6600 as part of their bundles. I have found their customer service very good, emailed a query on Sunday afternoon and got a reply within an hour, ordered some parts, received Tuesday

to use all 4gb of RAM in winxp - you have to instal winxp pro 64-bit edition.

terryf - you think 3gb of ram will work in dual channel?

isn't vista going to be 64 bit?

I'm not gonna get that much RAM now or from PCspecialist

cheers

keep the ram if you are going to vista.

greenday1,

you can get a far netter system here for cheaper, and it also comes with a better warranty. If you take out the monitor and any other unnecessary items, you will have a system with 2Gb of ram (you can always add to), and a far superior graphics card.click here

" far netter system"

read "far better system". :)
