Acer L320 aspire - any experiences?

I am looking for a PC which will handle, with reasonable efficiency the transfer of video from my camera, the editing of it and burning the finished article to DVD.
The initial appeal of the Acer is that it will go into the space beneath LCD TV which can double as a VDU. I am concerned that, as it is supplied with Vista Home Premium, and has only 1GB Ram, it may lack muscle for the job.
Does anyone know if the RAM can be upgraded: would it be better to have XP as the operating system?
The machine will be used for little else, apart from net surfing.
Any ideas welcomed.
