Go with the second one with the core 2 duo in it. I just got a dell laptop yesterday with one in it and its very quick!

Similar Acer model but only 80Gb HDD and 1Gb Ram. Saves you nearly £100 though. Check out the memory upgrade.

Hi I do not know the difference between the F3000 and A6000 Ausus Series but the specs. seem the same. Last week in Portugal they started selling a F3JC model with the T7200 processor (2ghz and 4mb level 2 cache). Also Hard drive 120 gb and 2gb memory for equivalent of £880.
I think this is a start of a significant price reduction in laptops and you would be well advised to wait a while.

if you're not into doing audio work, but I know, having recently done some research into laptops for a colleague, that ASUS laptops have a "line in" input. Most only have a "mic-in".

I't's probably not an issue for most folk.
