Any one any views on a good 2.1 speaker system?
found these for a bargain price and they have a remote

But then I see the acoustic energy 2.1 get a good write up but they are £100! Though the Altec retail in some shops at £80! anyone any thoughts or alternatives to these?

Altec Lansing is a well respected American hi-fi speakers manufacturer and its computer equivalents are equally renowned.

However, the best way to decide (if possible) is to listen to both the Altec Lansing and Acoustic Energy systems in a comparison test.

I don't think you can compare those two sets of speakers - the particular Acoustic-E model for £70+ more is obviously of higher grade.

If you're not an 'audiophile', the £28 Altec set should be more than enough. Look closely at the dimensions of its subwoofer with relation to the space you have though. Some reviewers mention they didn't expect it to be so large.

One that gets good reviews is the Logitech Z-4 for ~£18 more than the Altec click here. G
