I have recently come across hard drives with capacities of about 74gb running at 10,000rpm.

Does anybody have experience with hard drives running at these speeds i.e. build quality, speed, value for money, etc.

All comments welcome.

Phate,

I think the drive you are referring to is a scuzzi drive.

Mostly used in servers, they are a fair bit more expensive than ide or ata drives.

For the price difference there is not now a great deal of difference in speed with todays 7200 drives with 8mb cache.

I really do not believe anyone will notice any difference.
