Turning on your machine with a click of the mouse

Can anyone tell me how you can set up your machine so when it has closed down a double click of the mouse button starts it up? I know this is possible as it has been done before on a friends machine. Cheers

thanks Gandalf but that isn't quite what I meant. It was a 98 machine and after you shut it down you could just tap the left mouse key twice & it'll boot the machine up. The machine is now XP.

I think the computer was in system standby mode.

Control Panel/display/screen saver/power/system standby. The computer is powered down but not actually turned off. Pressing the mouse button brings it out of standby mode. If the computer is turned off you will not have any power even for the mouse to work.
