Microsoft Machine Debug Manager

Mayday Mayday... brain approaching terminal confusion!

This morning my laptop showed an error message for a split second it appeared to say something about a registry problem which had been corrected. Now on booting up, Norton Antivirus Autoprotect is disabled, it refuses to recognise my digital camera, takes almost 2 minutes to display 'My Computer' information and using the internet brings up an information box containing:-

Microsoft Machine Debug Manager (MDM)

Usage: mdm[option]

options:

/dumpjit: display current JIT (just in time) debugging settings
/remotecfg: configure remote JIT (just in time) debugging options
/service: register MDM

So far I have had no joy in tracing the problem, can anyone put me out of my misery?!

Sorry, mean't to say this machine is running Windows XP Home. Cheers

Try a System Restore?

This is related to Win 2000 but it may give a clue click here

Thanks Big Elf - all sorts of strange things have been happening, a system restore has cured it but I would have liked to have known what the cause was... Cheers :)
