Messenger, Mac and Webcams....

I have downloaded MSN Messenger for Mac, but find that I cannot use my webcam. Have I got the right program? Or does Mac not support webcams. I could partition the HD and run XP...but that's messy and costly. Any ideas?

Instead of Messenger use click here much better anyway. Several webcams do work ok with Mac computers. My son in Lanzarote has a couple of Mac's, I am using XP - we video-chat regularly with Skype.

Only a few webcams are compatible Mac-to-Windows, my son uses the Logitech Quickcam 4000Pro.

To find out which other webcams are compatible you can check in Skype, which will list at least three different webcams.

Many thanks guys. I use skype already but not all my friends have joined up so Messenger remains the channel of choice. Brundle's suggestion of Mercury works well
