Can anyone please direct me to a tutorial on the use and operation of Macros.

Also recommend a free program which would give me the flavour and the possibilities when using it!.

Thanks inadvance.

Macros for which application?

  Splodge 17:30 16 Jan 07

Well I don't know really.

A potential employer asked me if I had experience of Macros but, he went on to test my knowledge of Excel so I would guess that it involves that.

I admitted I did not know macros but I was OK on Excel.

I wanted to surprise him if I get a further interview with my "newfound" knowledge.

Tools >> Macros >> Record new macro..

You'll be prompted to save it as a keyboard shortcut/toolbar icon.

Record what you want to record. press the stop button when you've finished.

As for programs, Word, Excel, (I assume) OpenOffice, etc...

Wow! Thanks VoG; The employer will take one look at that lot and resign in my favour! Well I can dream but many, many thanks. I have downloaded the pages onto my desktop and will now work through them.
I think I might also burn 'em to disk and demonstrate my initiative to the new boss!

I can close this thread I think no-one will beat that advice!

JoE; you posted same time as I did but I note your advice and have noted it. Thanks to you too!
