I have a spreadsheet that has thousands of different cells with info in. Is there a macro/formula that I can run which will put an entry and how many times it appears on the spreadsheet. (Pivot table will not work too many entries)

Not sure that I know what you mean.

=COUNTIF(E1:H10,1)

will count how many cells in the range E1 to H10 contain 1.

I have loads of different numbers everywhere on the sheet i.e ABC1234, ABC4567 and so on. At the bottom of the spreadsheet I want a macro/formula that will count up all the ABC1234 and ABC4567 and tell me how many times each one appears on the sheet. Or maybe list them all on sheet 2.

So maybe make a list of the codes in another sheet and use a formula like

=COUNTIF(Sheet5!A1:D100,A1)

where A1 contains ABC1234
