MacBook Pro won't start once the battery is out.

I brought a MacBook Air 13 inches 2014 from eBay. Now when the battery drains out completely the only way to start the laptop is to open the back screws, disconnect the battery and reconnect it. Then when I press the power button it all works. I am using the charger that came as standard. Rest of the laptop works like it usually should. Does anyone else have the same issue? Is it the battery?

Help would be much appreciated.

It sounds like something you should take to the Apple Store or an Apple dealer, because it's either the charging cable or the battery, and it's better to get it dealt with before the battery goes completely. It's not that old, so I'd get it looked at. When did you buy it on eBay? Too late to return it?
