Small network running MAC and using broadband via ethernet connection, have an old windows laptop which needs access to internet in the same office. Is it a case that I need min internet spec requirements on the laptop in order to connect to internet but I also need a pcmcia card and to connet onto the network and therefore internet?

If your current "broadband via ethernet connection" is actually using a router, it is simply a matter of connecting the old laptop by ethernet cable to the router.

However, the laptop obviously requires a Network Adapter and, depending on its age, this might have to be the older 16-bit PCMCIA type, rather than a current 32-bit Cardbus one.

Without a router, you could set up "Internet Connection Sharing" in the MAC, but this would require that you have a free network adapter with which to connect to the laptop.
