hi all,
Somehow and don't ask how but my account has changed from administrator rights to a limited account.
I can't use the built in administrator account has it is disabled.
Anyone know how to get my account back to administrator rights?
running xp pro on NTFS

thanks

Have you tried getting into your admin account in safe mode?

In safe mode, at the welcome screen press ctrl, alt, del twice and type administrator in the user account field.
Got to start/run and type userpasswords2 and press ok.
You should be able to get in now and alter your user account details.

hope this works,

John

I tried it om my machine (also xp pro) and the admin account was present without running userpasswords2.
The fact that you've disabled the admin account is probably the problem.

Sorry, nothing else to suggest I'm afraid, other than to back up and formatt.
