I am on teh verge of buying an Apple Imac and some people are telling me that it is not necessary to install an Anti-Virus on an Appel Imac. This is hard to believe. All comments will be welcome on this subject.

Anti-virus is required for Mac computers, just like any other.

and have run virus scans; and happily, nothing comes up (ever) but they do exist.

You are very unlikley to get any malware or virus on an iMac. The number of known viruses.malware was recntly reported to be about 70. Windows runs into the millions.

But "never say never" so it is sensible to be cautious but not to the extent of having an AV and multiple malware programs.

I use iAntivirus a freebie click here

Thanks for all your comments; I guess I'll buy an Anti-virus for it also providing AVG's can be used also on Apple.
