Aitchbee.

I remember him best for his fantastic mountaineering and climbing. The climb of the Muztagh Tower on the border of Pakistan and China was brilliant. The TV programmes I remember most were his participation in the Eiffel Tower climb, and with Joe Brown and others in the TV live show of the climb of The Old Man of Hoy. RIP to a great man

jb, I didn't know about Ian's mountaineering career until today ... but I do remember watching The Ascent of The Old Man Of Hoy on TV ... it was on-the-seat-of-your-pants, gripping television, at it's best!
