hello all, could someone shed some light as to whether Sygate personal firewall, AVG antivirus, Ad-Aware, Spywareblaster is Mac compatible.all responses welcomed thanks.

You'd need to look at specialist iMac software sites. Windows and Mac OS are not the same and the programs can't interact with the OS's in the same way.

Also i don't think there are any Mac viruses (or very few) and Mac OS doesn't use IE anyway so you won't have to use the Anti Spyware programs as the Spyware generally only works on Win OS's and / or rely on flaws in IE to work.

Norton & Sophos do AV for Mac OS. Not free though.

Sad to say that there are lots of links if you go into Google and look for Mac freeware. However quite a few are sparse sites with few offerings and some are dead sites...
