Can I connect a second screen/monitor to my Mac? Can it be any screen or does it have to be another Mac? If it is possible, I'd need a very detailed explanation. I don't know much about hardware. Thanks Linda

What model of Mac do you have? Adding a second display should be easy, and doesn't need to be made by Apple.

Adding a second screen to your mac is very easy all you need is a mini display port to VGA or a mini display port to HDMI.

  1. connect your mini display port to VGA,HDMI to the thunderbolt port at the back of your mac.

2.Connect your HDMI,VGA cable to the other end of your mini display port.

3.Connect the other end of your HDMI,VGA cable to the back of your second monitor (don't forget to plug in your second monitors power source.)

4.Now go to your macs system preferences and displays now adjust your second monitor to suit you

Hope it helped
