Format Hard disk and fit into another machine

If I format a hard disk and load windows 98se on it can I then take it out and fit it into another machine and expect it to work? Info please.

yes it will work but when you transfer it, Windows will need drivers for the different hardware in the machine you've installed it into.

you're looking probably at needing audio, video and modem drivers, so, it's a good idea to find out what hardware is in the machine you want to install the hard disk into, get the drivers off the internet (especially the modem drivers so you have the ability to connect to the internet to find any additional drivers) first before installing the hard disk

Or, put the hard drive in the other PC first, then format'd be surprised the amount of drivers on a Win98SE CD there are...
