The MacBook Pro is not exactly cheap but the first Intel notebook and the iMac also gets Intel'd!

I would happily buy a Mac if it suited me, and it certainly wouldn't need the use of an Intel CPU to sway me.

But that's the thing; I'm just happier with Windows PCs. I've used Mac OS X - very nice, but I don't feel a sense of longing when I return to XP.

The Intel deal seemed a bit unnecessary to me. Apple deserves to be able to stick to it's own processors and not be viewed adversely for it.

The usual Apple hype seems to have backfired. We were reading about Apple selling competitively priced Intel based laptops. However it turns out they are only competitive with the old technology very overpiced Apple products. Why buy Apple when you can buy exceptionally specified Intel/AMD laptop products for a fraction of the price of the new Apple offerings.
