Hi - could do with some advice please.

I have an e-machines model 370 with a Trigem IM845Gl (Imperial) motherboard and 1.8Ghz Intel Celeron processor.

I have seen advert for 2.6Ghz and 2.8Ghz processors in the required 478pin configuration.

The bus on the motherboard is 400Mhz.

Can I upgrade tthe CPU to 2.6 or 2.8Ghz or do I have to swap out the micro ATX motherboard as well?

Many thanks

Alman

Most proprietry machines are so integrated that upgrading is not a worthwhile proposition.
That is to say they are designed and built around a descerte set on components- Upgrade one bit and you find that others will need the same - you wind up spending lots on what finally becomes a bit of a dog.
If have the dosh buy anew and pass the old one on.
