DVD disk drive issues - IMac OS X - Version 10.5.8

Hi all,

I have a very peculiar issue with my IMac's CD/DVD drive - it does not play only bought DVDs and I cannot seem to figure out what the issue is.

The DVD drive plays CD-DVD ROM discs and it accepts, burns, and plays DVDs created on the IMac itself. However, it does not accept bought DVDs - these DVDs are the correct region for my Imac and work find on other devices. My IMac automatically spits out the DVD after making noises that suggest that it is trying to read the disc. Does anyone have any ideas to resolve this issue?

Jamie
