I have an old Gateway PC266 with 386MB of SDRAM
and nvidia 30MB of a graphic card. I keep it uptodate and have been changig stuff in it. Running WinXP Pro with Service pack-2 No problem here.
When I convert my analogue video taps to make a Video DVD, the re-coding takes hours for an 1/2 hour video. I am thinking of buying a DVD camcorder which uses 8cm DVD-R & + R media and then burn the footage to a regular DVD media using NERO 6.
My second choice will to build a new computer arround P4 with 1 GB of DDR2 RAMS with a huge Hard Drive.
Any sggestion please?

video quality by DV camcorder is much better than anlogue one. Super computer will not improve video quality.

any digi one will do, not necessarily dvd one. you can always put footage into PC and burn it.

Thanks to TomJerry for his valued opinion on the subject. Will act as he suggested. Thanks again.
