Belkin Wireless Mac - HELP!

  ribenacarton 20:12 25 Jun 08

I am using a Mac and a Belkin wireless G-router.

I am able to connect to the internet by literally sitting next to the internet. I have only had this problem today and i just can't seem to get it to connect in the place i normally have my mac.

I have had no problems for about 6 months now, yet today it just doesn't seem to work unless i'm next to the router.

If i am in my usual place, it does say i'm conected, but i cannot use anything that needs an internet connection i.e. safari, msn etc.

I have restarted my computer many times, and pressed the reset button on the router. I have fiddled around with the wires on the router and the aerials on it too.

There is another computer in the house, which is situated further away, and that seems to have connected. I cannot think what the problem could be on my actual computer, or if it really is the router causing me problems.

Can someone help?

Thank you.

Change the wireless channel on the router, 1 6 or 11 are the first to try.

thanks so much 'brundle'.
that seems to have done the trick. i've changed it to 11, because i heard thats the channel i can also use the nintendo ds wi-fi on.
Though i'm not really sure what the different channels mean.

I also never thought to check the main settings of the router, so thank you!
huge help!
