I use the iPad app file browser £1.99 from the apple App Store with my ipad3 , Just use scan button and it will pick up all your devices by wireless if they are all switched on at the time, by that I mean desktop, laptop, router and even my NAS Drive no bother at all you can look at all files photos etc via it.

As I mentioned I have no trouble picking up all my devices I even have a USB connection on the router and even connecting a USB flash stick into the router the iPad picks it up. Perhaps there is a wiring system in your Belkin that stops the programme from working (a type of firewall perhaps)

Perhaps there is a wiring system in your Belkin that stops the programme from working (a type of firewall perhaps). The NAS drive is connected directly to the router and I can see and work with it from the iPad .
