Apple Quick Time

Something strange has happened to Quck Time (qt) and wont go away causing some window programs not to function at all. When I click qt the screen goes black for a second or 2 and resolution changes from 32 to 8 and thus qt looks awful and cannot function. At first AOL would not start so I used Explorer. Word does not start at all. I thought it was Windows XP so reinstalled but this has not helped. Scanned AVG and found no virus. Could it be my graphic card or psu. I cannot figure out what it is. Please help. I have been in touch with Apple and they cannot understand why this has happened. Liza

You will need to eliminate any issue linked to quicktime.

Click 'Start' the 'run'

Type msconfig

In the start up tab uncheck quicktime and anything else that looks like quicktime.

Close the window and you will be promted to reboot.

Restart the PC and see if the issue has gone away, if not its not linked to Quicktime...

You could try uninstalling Quick Time and if you really need to play QT vids download QuickTime Alternative
