My brother who is in is sixties wants to buy his first PC and wanted advice what to buy.
He wants it to be as simple as possible and was concerned about viruses etc.
His preference was a laptop and I was thinking of a Mac as its claimed they are viruses free.
I have no knowledge of them so any advice or short falls they have would be appreciated for a fist PC.

I don't think Apple Macs are completely virus free. They may be less prone to being attacked by a virus, probably because they have less of the market than PCs, but there are anti-virus programmes for Apple Macs so there are probably Apple Mac virus programmes as well.

I think your brother needs also to take into account the cost of the computer and any software he will be using, not just to worry about a particular aspect - potential virus infection - but look at the whole picture, taking account of his particular needs.

Peter.
