my daugters ipod Nano using Apple Itunes v6.1 or the newer version is giving a error

ITunes.exe.corrupt file
The file or directory\ipod control\itunes\itunes DB is corrupt and unreadable
run chkdisk utility

This started after using the option to update Itunes from the menu within the software. running windows XP Home.

Have tried uninstalling Itunes and reinstalling the supplied disk version doesn't fix.

Has anyone encountered this problem please.

Simply download a new version of iTunes from Apple's website - make sure you've backed up any music first!

try uninstalling Itunes then do a system restore to a point before the update.

You should then be able to install from the supplied disk.

that's what I did anyway

apparently the ipod was registered to some other person then put back on the shelf and re-sold to my self.
