I've been using a WD external drive for some time happily on my pc laptop but after connecting it to a mac it is no longer recognised as being plugged in on windows 7. The mac still recognises the drive and its disc utility recognises it as NTFS formatted. Can anyone help me get it back working on the PC?

Not sure why this happened if you haven't changed the file system when connected to the Mac (I have NTFS formatted drive connected to both PC & Mac without any problems)

Suggest you transfer all datas on the drive to the Mac temporally then format it to FAT, reconnect the drive to PC & reformat it back to NTFS then move back all datas from the Mac.

Also suggest you to change your forum username to e.g. jimshall so as to avoid spam emails.

thanks for those suggestions. I've changed user name and will see if I can do the reformatting.
