PC Advisor has given its Best Storage Device award for 2013 to the Samsung 830 Series 256GB. Here's why.

Best Storage Device 2013: winner Samsung 830 Series 256GB

The 830 Series 256GB is a SATA 6Gbps SSD built with Samsung silicon throughout. While this SSD doesn’t top the league tables for overall performance, it is still one extremely quick storage drive. Samsung seems to have tweaked its controller to favour read speed at most file sizes, suggesting it may have the edge in PC boot times, for instance. Priced between the Crucial m4 and Corsair Performance Pro drives of the same capacity, it is a worthy winner.
