Symantec Norton wins PC Advisor's Best Security Software of 2012 award

The best brands and technology of 2012

Norton Internet Security is an internet security suite that safeguards your PC lightly and efficiently. Norton is probably the best known of all internet security products, and Symantec has stood the test of time by constantly improving its product with useful extras, both in its core engine and in the way it reports what it’s been up to. The latest version is commendably light on resources and does what it sets out to quickly and efficiently. And that’s enough for it to take the Best Security Software award in a very strong field.

About the PC Advisor Awards 2012

Our annual roll call of honour considers every piece of hardware and software that has passed through our Test Centre over the past year. We look for innovation and excellence, outstanding performance and value for money.

Only excellent products make the PC Advisor Awards shortlist, and we congratulate all the manufacturers represented on the list. If a product still looks great from the view point of up to a year after its first review, the chances are that it is great.

That does, however, mean that our PC Advisor Awards coverage is not necessarily a buyer’s guide – for that you should visit our Test Centre and Reviews. Some of the products may no longer be available, and in some categories they may have been superseded.

Whittling down the shortlist to pick out individual winners isn’t easy. In all cases arguments could be (and were) made for products other than the eventual winners. But winners there must be.

See pcadvisor.co.uk/awards for details on our other award winners
