According to its developer, Great Scott Games, Disco Maths is "great fun for all ages and will challenge even the most analytical of minds". Use the app to create equations, earning points based on the equation's complexity. There are 10 levels to work your way through.

Quipper Quiz

This free app aims to help your learn by offering questions and detailed answers of over 1,000 topics.

Advanced English Dictionary and Thesaurus

Never be stuck for the meaning of a word with this app, which has straightforward definitions for 140,000 words.

How to make Origami

Learn the ancient Japanese art of paper folding with this free app. It even offers actual 3D animations of the folding process to help you along.
