As Apple refuses to comment on pretty much anything until a product is launched, we're forced to rely on the cunning of the web to paint you a picture of what to expect to find in the iPhone 5S. Don't panic though, we're pretty long in the tooth in such things here at PC Advisor, and similar articles to this have been pretty close to the final product in the past. Take a look at iOS 7 release date, iOS 7 features, which iPhones, iPods, iPads get iOS 7?
iPhone 5S release date
The first thing you should know about Apple is that it's a bit of a creature of habit when it comes to products release dates. So without even looking at what the wider-web has to say about an iPhone 5S release date, we are already expecting an autumn release date. Guess what? That's exactly what the vast majority of internet rumours are suggesting too. Visit our iPad 5 preview too.
International Business Times had the most convincing and precise theory we came across. IBT pointed out that last year saw the 19th Sept iOS 6 release come exactly 100 days after said operating system was initially announced (back on 11th June), the iPhone 5 was release two days later in 21st Sept. Applying that logic again, IBT came up with an iPhone 5S release date of Saturday 20th September 2013, given that they expect iOS 7 to again launch 100-days after the initial announcement of Apple's next mobile operating system, making it an 18th September release for iOS 7, as the first unveiling took place on 10th June. iPhone 5S features, specs and leaked photos
Yup, you read that correctly. There are fierce rumours flying around that Apple is set to launch an iPhone that will come equipped with fingerprint-recognition technology, presumably to enable you and only you to unlock your iPhone 5S with. (See also: iPhone 5C vs iPhone 5S comparison review: what's the difference between iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S?)
This rumour all started when Apple bought the fingerprint specialists company AuthenTech in July 2012. AuthenTech are the company behind the impressive Smart Sensor product. This Smart Sensor is what is expected to be used in the iPhone 5S, and its 500 ppi (192 x 8 pixels) senor is said to be so advanced that it only works with real fingerprints.
As if that wasn't impressive enough, the Smart Sensor has the ability to store the data of more than one fingerprint, meaning that it has the potential to let several members of your friends and family unlock your iPhone 5S; or even remember the data from each of your fingers, so you can assign different iPhone functions to start when different fingers touch the sensor. For example, an index finger could unlock the iPhone 5S, while your middle finger could unlock your iPhone 5S and automatically launch maps too. Cool eh!?

iPhone 5S Camera and dual-LED flash
As you'd expect, Apple are said to equip this camera with some pretty cool features. The best we've heard so far is that the iPhone 5S will have the ability to capture videos at an extremely accurate and quick rate, which will in-turn be able to be rendered into a high-quality slow-motion video.
From the looks of this “leaked” iPhone 5S close-up it looks as if there will be a dual-LED flash featured too. For the life of me, I can't think of a proper benefit to a dual-LED flash though. Double the brightness perhaps? But then, when not just have a monster single flash. Hmmm.

iPhone 5S battery
This is probably one of the dullest upgrades to the iPhone 5S, yet it's one that is utterly needed. Without a long battery life, a smartphone is pretty useless, so thankfully Apple keeps upping its battery game with each new iPhone it releases. However, don't get too excited, you're not going to get double the battery life with the iPhone 5S. The upgrade is from 5.45Whr to 5.92Whr…so you probably won't even notice the difference.

iPhone 5S leaked photos
Here's a selection of the internet's finest “leaked” iPhone 5S photos. If Apple does decide to launch an iPhone 5S - as we are expecting and not an iPhone 6 - then there's a very good chance that the handset will look exactly the same as the iPhone 5 (much like the iPhone 4 and 4S were twins). Anyway, here's a couple of cool concepts that are flying about.
