All the info you need on Android 4.1.2 for Samsung Galaxy S2
If you own a Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-i9100) you're probably wondering when you will be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Well we've investigated for you so here's everything you need to know about updating your Galaxy S2 to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Samsung has, in fact, started rolling out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S2 smartphone on a global scale. However, this doesn't automatically mean that it is available for every handset instantly. Since there are millions of Galaxy S2s to be updated, the roll out will happen gradually in phases via Samsung Kies and over the air (OTA).

We've heard reports that unlocked Galaxy S2 handsets in the UK have been receiving the update so check now if you haven't already. However, at the time of writing, the official roll out for the UK across mobile operators is still pending. So far it has been launched in China and Spain but you can check on the status via the live feed below.
Although 4.2 is the most up-to-date version of Google's Android operating system, 4.1.2 Jelly Bean will bring many new features to the Galaxy S2. Here's a list of the key ones.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 features
- Enhanced performance and improved stability (Project Butter)
- New user interface (Same Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note2)
- TouchWiz Nature UX
- Improved camera features
- New lockscreen with customisation
- Direct Call, S Cloud, Smart Stay and Pop-up Play
