We announce the winner of our Best Budget Laptop award for 2013.
PC Advisor has given its Best Budget Laptop award for 2013 to the Asus K55VD.
Best Budget Laptop 2013: winner Asus K55VD
Winner in another tightly contested category is our Best Budget Laptop, the Asus K55VD. One of the cheapest Ivy Bridge laptops we’d seen when we reviewed it in August, the K55VD also has a DVD writer and a dedicated graphics card capable of playing 3D games. It isn’t the prettiest, but Asus’ K55VD delivers surprisingly good performance for your money.
The touchpad takes some getting used to but, as with the smallish 500GB hard disk, these foibles aren’t deal-breakers in a laptop that offers outstanding value.
