15 strange sights in Google Street View: Funniest Google Street View pictures

The weirdest, funniest, strangest and coolest sights captured on Google Street View for the world to see.

You're probably quite familiar with Google Street View, the Google Maps feature that lets you virtually journey through streets around the world. What you might not realise is that Google Street View contains some strange, funny and utterly brilliant sights, all captured by Google's Street View cars as they drove around capturing the photographs used in Street View.

Here, we bring you 15 of the best Google Street View sights, from a lightning strike and a rainbow to a field full of scarecrows and the happiest murderer we've ever seen. We've also thrown in some pretty awesome bonus Easter eggs, including a stroll through the magical Diagon Alley and a visit to Dr Who's Tardis. We've left out the bums, but trust us, there are hundreds of them on Google Street View. Thankfully, Google has gone to the trouble of blurring them out so we don't have to see them in detail!

Sadly, Google has also blurred out some of the old, classic Google Street View hoaxes and staged photos, including one that apparently showed a baby being born on the street (it was confirmed as a fake) and a pair of Final Fantasy warriors battling with swords in Pittsburgh.

Here are 15 that Google hasn't blurred out (yet).

1. Horseboy

This guy seems to be all over Google Street View. Here he is walking along in Italy.

2. Lightning strike

This incredible photo of a lightning strike in Romania can be found in Google Street View.

3. Happy murderer

This pair of pranksters faked a murder in Edinburgh. His happy face was a bit of a giveaway but we think it's a great effort!

4. Stunning painting

This brilliant artist was captured finishingoff his latest piece in London's Hyde Park.

5. Happy couple

This couple were captured riding in a very pink horse and carriage on their wedding day.

6. Drunk man

We couldn't help but laugh at the expense of this man passed out on a bench. We're assuming he is drunk from the can seen next to him and the awkward position of his body!

See him for yourself here.

7. Rainbow

A full rainbow was captured on Google Street View near Dartmoor National Park here in the UK.

8. Yoga lady

Another image that gave us a chuckle is of this lady doing some yoga on the beautiful Whistable coast. Not something you see every day on Google Street View.

9. Cleaning

The Google Street View car driver is captured giving the camera a clean on the Isle of Man.

10. Highland accident

It looks like it's going to be tricky to get this car out from this ditch up in Scotland.

11. Penguin riding a Penny Farthing

Among our favourites and definitely one of the strangest Google Street Views we've seen is this Penguin riding on the back of a Penny Farthing bike.

12. Scarecrow field

This one gave us a bit of a fright, as it looks like a field filled with lots of creepy people. It's actually lots of creepy scarecrows instead. Strange!

13. Diagon Alley

Harry Potter fans can take a trip through Diagon Alley on Google Street View, thanks to photos captured of the Harry Potter Studio Tour at Leavesdon.

14. Orange men

We're not sure what these two are up to but it's definitely strange!

15. Bird's nest

We love this one of a bird nesting in Lithuania.

Jon Rafman has an incredible selection of Google Street View images, and Google Street View.com has a brilliant map of the world filled with links that'll take you directly to the relevant Google Street View location. You'll find funny sights, strange sights and absolutely stunning sights there, but be warned: it's additive!
