Toshiba has shown off two concept tablets at its Product Preview 2012. PC Advisor has trekked out to Watford to check out Toshiba’s new kit.
Among the hordes of laptops, hard drives and other kit are two concept tablet designs which got a look at. The two devices are an unnamed 7.7-inch Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a dummy 13.3-inch monster.
Details are light on both devices at the moment but the smaller of the two is called the AT470 in the about tablet settings menu and running Android 4.0.3 ICS. We don’t know what hardware is inside but the screen uses AMOLED technology and as far as we can tell it’s the same as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7.
Both devices come with features including WiFi, microSD and HDMI. Both tablets have front and rear facing cameras of undisclosed specification.
The larger of the two devices is a huge 13.3-inch tablet primarily for multimedia use but Toshiba also said it would be useful for businesses. This larger tablet is not functioning yet but has similar technology to the 7.7-inch model and a full SD card slot.
Whether or not Toshiba brings these devices to market is unclear at the moment. In our opinion the 7.7-inch is far more likely than the 13.3-inch.
