Announced last week a day before the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3, the Nexus 9 is available starting at £319 ahead of its 3 November release date. However, Google has killed the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 while leaving the Nexus 5 on sale. The Nexus 6 made by Motorola is yet to appear on the Play storeRead: Nexus 7 vs Nexus 9 comparison.

"Advances in computing are driven at the intersection of hardware and software. That's why we’ve always introduced Nexus devices alongside our platform releases. Rather than creating software in the abstract, we work with hardware partners to build Nexus devices to help push the boundaries of what's possible. Nexus devices also serve as a reference for the ecosystem as they develop on our newest release. And for Lollipop, we have a few new Nexus treats to share with you." said Google in  a blog post.

The Nexus 9 introduces Android 5.0 Lollipop and the Indigo Black and Lunar White models are available in 16 or 32 GB storage capacities. There is also a sand colour which only appears on the Google Play store in the higher storage and says 'coming soon'.

If you're after a Nexus 9 with 4G LTE cellular connectivity, the only model available to pre-order on the Google Play store at the time of writing is black with 32 GB and costs £459. Like the sand option, it is also 'coming soon'.

Although Google has stopped selling the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, you may be able to find them at other retailers at reduced prices. The smaller of the two will be easier to find.
