Ingram Micro will distribute Microsoft Office 365 from the beginning of April via both open licensing and electronic software distribution.

Senior business manager enterprise software and Cloud devices, Lee Welch, said the opportunity to distribute Office 365 provided its partners with significant opportunities to assist end users in migrating painlessly to the latest Microsoft Office software, and realise its potential to integrate seamlessly across devices.

"Our partners have been inundating us with requests for Office 365 but until now we haven't been able to meet this pent up demand," Welch said. "Office 365 is a world-class product and the fact we have been distributing it elsewhere around the world means we have a wealth of experience that we can bring to the Australian market."

To meet the anticipated demand from its partners, Ingram Micro is planning a number of initiatives over the coming months including:

  • Office 365 demonstration and deployment: regional and online partner enablement workshops to showcase the products and how to deploy them.
  • Cloud champion: a 12-week coaching program for resellers designed to help resellers develop their Cloud-based business and leverage Office365. Resellers can at enrol online.
  • Office 365 Licensing Academy: Ingram Micro has run a number of highly successful Licensing Academy programs to help resellers build their licensing business. This program will focus specifically on Office 365.
  • A dedicated Office 365 pre-sales desk to help resellers with their enquiries.

Welch said that proactive renewal management was a key focus for many companies and Ingram could provide all the knowledge its channel partners needed to best advise their customers on how to migrate in the most cost-effective manner .
