Microsoft Asia Pacific regional vice-president, Tracey Fellows, will be leaving the technology giant to become the first executive general manager for Australia Post's communications management services unit.
Fellows was based in Singapore, but will be returning to Australia.
A Microsoft spokesperson said it was finalising a successor to Fellows and in the interim, current Asia Pacific vice-president of sales, marketing, services and support, Alvaro Celis, will assume her responsibilities.
According to an Australia Post spokesperson, Fellows will be responsible for leading an important part of the business at a time of significant change as Australian businesses and consumers shift to digital forms of communication. The communications management services unit combines Australia Post's mail services and eServices businesses.
"Tracey's background in technology and her strong sales and marketing experience, working closely with large enterprises and government agencies, made her the standout candidate," the Australia Post spokesperson said.
Fellows' resume features more than 20 years experience in the technology industry. She has been with Microsoft for about nine years and moved up the ranks to country manager before taking up the Asia Pacific role in in 2010. She served in senior roles at Dell and IBM.
