Due to a reporting error, the story posted Monday, "Turkish hackers strike websites with DNS hack," inaccurately portrayed the scale of a cyber-attack as well as the sites targeted. The story has been edited on the wire and the changes are detailed below:

The first paragraph now reads:

A Turkish hacking group managed to tamper with Internet addressing records over the weekend, redirecting eight websites belonging to companies including UPS and Vodafone to different Web pages controlled by the hackers.

The eight paragraph, which had referred to two sites not targeted in the current attacks, has been deleted.

The ninth paragraph now reads:

Other websites affected were those belonging to The Telegraph newspaper, The Register technology news site, Acer, and the National Geographic.
