PC Tools has launched an online service designed to answer users' security questions about surfing the web.

The PC Tools Doctor's Surgery is run by in-house security expert Dr Michael Greene and offers tips and tricks on staying safe online, as well as allowing users to email their security questions to Dr Greene in confidence and receive a response by email.

Web users can also ask the doctor questions of a more open nature through micro-blogging site Twitter (follow him here).

The security vendor said the site had been launched following a surge in security threats around Valentine's Day.
